I came back to California a few weeks ago. I have spent four months in Moldova. I have had the opportunity to spend time with my loved ones, to play with my dog and my fifteen-year-old parrot, also, to enjoy the little things like inspiring blooming flowers, or natural delicious fruits and vegetables grown in our own garden. Moldova was so beautiful and bright-colored!
I had filled myself with special memories and I flew back to San Diego. My second home spoiled me instantly with warm weather touched by the soft ocean breeze. By the way, did you know that San Diego has the best weather year around in the entire world? How wonderful is that! I feel blessed and fortunate to be given the chance to live in this amazing city. If I were asked to describe San Diego through a single word, I would definitely answer – SUN.
San Diego has 300 sunny days per year – a truly delight! 🌞
I would like to start the ”Outfit Blog Posts” with a hand painted SUNNY dress. 🎨 I created this yellow dress for a special occasion. I just love to wear it during summer time.
I am not the person who wears a clothing only once; I strongly believe each clothing we wear has its own story. Especially if I talk about my designs – they are even more valuable to me, because I put all my soul into creating them. And, mostly, I prefer to consider them more art than fashion.
We don’t throw away a painting, because we want a new one, do we?
This fit’n’flare dress has an interesting story behind it. I was inspired by the colorful roses and the handmade Moldovan rugs. All the floral details were hand painted on white cotton canvas. I wanted to highlight the beauty of our cherished Moldovan rose rugs, choosing the lemon yellow for the “background”. I just felt free to express my love I have for my authentic roots. Although, they have always been an important source of inspiration for me.
When the dress was practically finished, I decided to add two more details, in order to make it more unique. I started to browse in my fabric cabinet drawers, in order to find something special.
First, I added the red lateral detail, which was inspired by the rose shape and color. I barely prefer the symmetry; thus, I chose a different fabric for the second detail.
This dress is very special to me, because it cherishes “sunny” sweet memories. It will always bring charm to my wardrobe and to my online shop. ❤️
