Now let me briefly tell you the story of this colorful skirt. A customer placed a custom order back in 2016. She wanted a pencil midi skirt with a zipper closure on the back, matched with a hand painted top. Back then, I launched many collections fully inspired by my beautiful native roots. Thus, I suggested her a colorful painted skirt in traditional floral motifs.
In the end, the customer was very happy with the choice she made. Her reaction was priceless! And I was even happier, because there is no bigger satisfaction for an artist than the appreciation of own art. I had such a unique connection with those paintings on the skirt, so after I had sold it, I decided to make a similar skirt for myself. I would prefer it shorter and back buttoned.
I have worn this skirt many times, especially at art and fashion events. So every time I wear it, I feel like I step back in time to live those emotions again.
I could wear it with a handful of colors. This time I choose a white cotton shirt with small detailed rose embroideries, topped with a crocheted vest. I did two braids to highlight the ethnic inspiration.
